Sita, Janak & Little Ishavari
Long ago in the kingdom of Mithila, King Janak ruled with wisdom and kindness. One day while ploughing the royal fields to seek good harvest, his plough struck something in the earth. He knelt down and found a golden box, and inside — a baby girl, glowing like a lamp.
He named her Sita, meaning "furrow of the earth," and she became his greatest treasure.
Sita grew up learning the dharma of a good heart — to be brave when others were afraid, gentle when others were harsh, and true when others chose falsehood.
Little Ishavari heard this story from her grandmother and asked, "Dadi, was Sita afraid when she was found alone in the field?"
Her grandmother smiled. "No, my child. She was loved from the very first moment. And love is braver than any sword."
That night, Ishavari understood: every person carries a light within them, placed there since before memory began.
