The River's Song

GratitudeSacrificeNature

Long before any of us were born, the sacred river Ganga lived only in the heavens, flowing between the stars.

King Bhagiratha of ancient India made a great sacrifice — he stood on one foot for a thousand years, asking the heavens to send the river down so that his ancestors might find peace.

At last, Ganga agreed to come. But her force was so powerful that she would have split the earth apart.

Only Shiva could hold her. He let Ganga flow through his matted hair, where she became gentle and deep.

From his hair, she flowed down to the earth — cooling fields, filling wells, giving life to all.

Today, when you hear a river's sound, close your eyes. You are hearing the patience of Bhagiratha, the grace of Ganga, and the love of Shiva — still flowing, after all these years.
